The Cotton Center ISD library offers the students, faculty, and staff a wide variety of educational materials. The library collection of books numbers close to 10,000. The magazine subscription includes but is not limited to, Time, Newsweek, National Georgraphic, and Sports Illustrated for Kids. Subscriptions to a local level newspaper (Hale Center American) and a state level newpaper (The Avalanche Journal) keep library patrons current on local and national news. The collection of videos in the CCISD library numbers around 75 and ranges from entertainment to educational.

The library has numerous hard copies of current dictionaries, plus a subscription to World Book Online www.worldbookonline.com which consists of an excellent online dictionary, encyclopedia, thesaurus, atlas, current headline stories, and a Spanish reference center. The students and faculty are able to access this resource at school or on their home computer through the use of a user name and password.

The library houses 15 computers with Internet access, Microsoft Office, and several media players including QuickTime, Windows Media, and RealPlayer. Many of the Cotton Center students utilize the computers for college dual-credit courses.

The library Circulation system used is Athena. Athena can perform numerous tasks including book check-in and check-out, overdue notices, search options, cataloguing (MARC downloads, barcode labels, and spine labels) and inventory functions.

Cotton Center is an Accelerated Reader (AR) driven school, and the library has two computers with the AR program installed. All students are able to take tests, check their AR history, and view their six weeks and yearly goals. The library has an AR store, which offers fun incentives for the students to continuously reach their Accelerated Reader goals. The store is open on special days throughout the school year.

The cotton Center ISD library is an inviting place for the students, faculty, and staff. There are several tables for working or reading, and a carpeted fun reading area for the younger students to sit and listen to stories.
